Some people are fair weather people, but true Oregonians don't worry about the weather, be it snow, rain, wind, or sun. And in March it can still be a toss up with what kind of weather you will be having for your photo session. And this weekend was no different, yes, we had rain. Rain doesn't matter when your couple is as outdoorsy as you! Plus when you're under giant fir trees and have a cute clear umbrella (that's only used for engagement sessions and weddings), then you're set for some great photos! I had so much fun with Carly and Jeff for their engagement session and I can't wait until they tie the knot this July and I'm there to capture the entire day!

I love doing engagement sessions. It's the best way to get to know my couple before their wedding day. And for this engagement session we were traveling together from Salem to Mt. Hood and had the car ride up to chat. The conversations were easy and light hearted and then it was time to turn off Highway 26 to do a little driving through an unplowed road to the perfect spot that they had in mind for their engagement photos.
Session in an indoor studio on a rainy Oregon day with a Christmas tree can really be so cozy and so much fun! I had a great time with these two and yes, those light spots are Christmas lights that I was holding (and I even received a small electrical shock, so I learned to be careful where I hang onto the light string!).
April showers bring May flowers, that's how the saying goes .... and boy, has it been raining in Oregon! But today, there was a break in the rain and the sun even came out.
I met up with Liz and Whitney to capture special moments at Forest Park and Cathedral Park in Portland, Oregon. And their pups, Rudy and Yoshi even came out for the stroll in Forest Park and I couldn't help but smile the entire time I was going through their photographs. Sometimes you just have to head up to the snow for a little winter fun! And that's exactly what we did, with Laura, Kevin, and their two pups, Daisy and Archer. We traveled up Mt. Hood from Portland, Oregon to find ourselves some snow for a mini engagement session. We found some wonderful patches of snow between pine trees up at White River Sno Park. Now, these two faces might look familiar because I took late summer engagement photos of them on the Broadway Bridge and at Cathedral Park under St. John's Bridge in Portland, Oregon. You can see their photos here. We definitely had some wintery fun during our session!
It’s summer in Oregon and it’s been hot. But that doesn’t hold back lovebirds from getting cute photos for their save the dates, especially when family will be traveling to celebrate their big day with them.
Eventhough is was 93° out, Laura and Kevin’s smiles where only interrupted with kisses. We started our evening at the Broadway Bridge in Portland.
I loved the color of the bridge and even with the heat, Laura and Kevin decided to go with jeans and rolled up long sleeves for their casual look, which is truely their style. And you can’t forget to help your lady down what seemed to be 500 stairs in the heat.
