It was a stormy week at the Oregon Coast, which led up to the wedding day of Courtney and Chris at Chinook Winds Casino. The rain brought the ceremony indoors, but it didn't stop the celebration for friends and family who all traveled up to hundreds of miles to witness this marriage. This wedding kicks off my season of 2022 weddings and I'm so excited that this was the first one of the year, because even with the rain, the sunset was sensational and the rain held off just long enough to capture some amazing moments on the beach.

Micky and Nathan's wedding day was modern, so unique, and memorable! Their short and wonderful ceremony was at Salem's Riverfront Carousel overlooking Riverfront Park on a beautiful sunny October morning. I loved the twist of Micky's navy jumper with fabulously sparkly boots and the added flair Nathan's top hat and cane. Directly after their "I do's," they went on their first Carousel ride as husband and wife. They were full of laughter and hand holding as their family joined in on the second round of hand carved and painted horses under the canopy of colorful ribbons. And if you thought the carousel was the really special part, just wait until you see all the details that went into the reception. You have to check out the guest book, cake, and tasty drinks created by Divine Distillers!
From the florals, dress, rings, absolutely amazing sunset, or the fun dancing at the end, I really don't know where to start. Nikki and Adam's wedding day was so wonderful and I just loved capturing all of the moments. I hope you're ready, because this was the most difficult wedding to pare down for a sneak peek. This destination wedding at the Oregon Coast was so amazing and with it being Oregon, the weather can be unpredictable and I think it was absolutely wonderful, especially for the sunset photos. This was the best sunset I've seen at the coast all summer!
I've been asked how far in advance weddings need to be booked and honestly, if I have your date available, I can photograph your wedding. Katii reached out to be five days before her wedding because unforeseeable circumstances made it impossible for her original photographer to capture her wedding day. We started the day in a cute, boho inspired AirBnb with the ladies getting ready and then we hopped in our cars and headed to Reed College for bridal photos and first looks. We found a beautiful brick building with a cascading staircase and greenery for bridal party photos, plus the first look with the groom and her father.
The reception hall was wonderfully decorated with all kinds of details and delicious traditional Russian food. The ceremony was beautiful from the candle lined aisle to the first kiss when they were pronounced as husband and wife. Amber and Collin's wedding plans changed one week before their wedding day because their venue at the Oregon Coast closed unexpectedly, and they had to replan everything within a few days and I think they did a fabulous job from the DJ, Caterer, and florals, and with a lot of help from close friends and family. I was so excited for their wedding day and even more excited that they wanted me to travel the four hours (one way) to their wedding in Richland, Washington at a friend's house. I loved so many of the well thought out details from the Jenga pieces to sign, custom tumblers, necklaces gifted to the daughters, notes to each other, and especially the first look with the kids after the first look with each other! I forgot to mention, that between Amber and Collin, there were three daughters and three sons, just like the Brady Bunch! ... and during the sand ceremony, the Brady Bunch theme song was played, I loved it!
It was two days before Teresa and Keith's destination wedding in Lincoln City when their venue closed due to COVID. They had family and friends traveling from all over the US to celebrate with them. What took a year to plan all the details was condensed into a couple of hours to replan their wedding day. It was a foggy day at the coast, with the ocean barely in sight, but being surrounded by loved ones made the whirlwind day full of love and joy during the wedding of Teresa and Keith.
