I just thought that this photo session of a daughter and her mother was so special. Their hugs and hand holding was so cute. When there's two people, I really like to have them interact with each other and see what happens while I'm taking photos. And sometimes when children don't want to look at the camera, bring a toy along that they love for the photographer to hold really helps get their attention for those "look at the camera and smile" photos.

This maternity session was part of my Spring Mini Session day this year and I was so happy to be capturing this chapter in her life! She told me that their will be her fourth boy and with all of her other pregnancies, she didn't have any professional photos taken. I knew I wanted to make her feel like a goddess out in a field of flowers. I'm quickly loving maternity sessions, they are a special stage of motherhood and if a mom wants to capture this chapter of their journey, I'm always excited to make it special for her.
I loved everything about this session, from it being a birthday present for the mama from her sisters, to how this little girl stared up at the trees. I believe that every mama needs to have photos with their baby, because this is the only time they will ever be this tiny. This little girl was only 6 weeks old and already holding her head up! Time with your newborn is so precious and I was thrilled to be capturing these moments for this new little family. The camas flowers in this Salem park was the perfect backdrop for this mama and newborn photo session.
I just love Spring with the trees waking up from their winter sleep, wildflowers showing off their beauty, and the warmer days starting to greet everyone. It's also the perfect time of year for family photos! This beautiful family traveled all the way from Lincoln City to Salem for a family photo session during my Spring Mini Session and I was so excited to capture all of them. It's so important to have family photos, especially when you have young children, because they are growing so fast. Even when someone is shy, I do my best to sneak a smile out of them and capture it for the parents. And you can't forget photos of mom and dad together, because one of them are usually the ones who are taking photos of their family.
