I love mother and daughter sessions; they are so special. I had spring minis earlier this year and this mom and her daughter came and this little girl has grown and has the cutest chunks now.  And at the end of this session, the little girl's cousins joined in for some photos and I thought that it was just so special!

It was a beautiful fall day for this family session. Life can sneak past and before you know it, it's been years since the last family photo and it was perfect autumn weather for this Salem family session at Minto-Brown Island Park.  Fall is the perfect time of year for family photos, because the colors are changing and there's time to print photos to add to Christmas cards. This family was a real delight with the two big brothers goofing off (as brothers tend to do) and helping with the littlest brother who was only a couple months old.  If you can't tell, I love capturing the special moments of siblings, parents, and the entire family interacting with one another.
As a mother myself, I really think it's important to have family photos taken, especially to capture young children as they grow. This 7 month old boy had the most expressive face and you can tell that he's a real thinker.  And I believe that it's not only important to take photos of the kiddos, but also the parents without any kiddos. Mom and Dad need a couple photos of them in this stage of their partnership as parents.
Even on foggy fall mornings there's fun to be had during family photo sessions and that's just what happened during this session!  There was some jumping involved for the kids and I love these sessions because it really shows the kids' personalities. And what parent doesn't love photos showing their children as their true selves?
I love repeat clients and I especially love watching the kids growing up throughout the years and this family is one of those. I remember when their daughter was a couple months old and now I'm capturing the new little brother at a couple months old.  It was a foggy morning and we had some fun playing around and getting some good giggles. And through the fog, some autumn colors were peeking through, which made for some great photos.
