April showers bring May flowers, that's how the saying goes .... and boy, has it been raining in Oregon! But today, there was a break in the rain and the sun even came out.
I met up with Liz and Whitney to capture special moments at Forest Park and Cathedral Park in Portland, Oregon. And their pups, Rudy and Yoshi even came out for the stroll in Forest Park and I couldn't help but smile the entire time I was going through their photographs.
Sometimes you just have to head up to the snow for a little winter fun! And that's exactly what we did, with Laura, Kevin, and their two pups, Daisy and Archer. We traveled up Mt. Hood from Portland, Oregon to find ourselves some snow for a mini engagement session. We found some wonderful patches of snow between pine trees up at White River Sno Park.
Now, these two faces might look familiar because I took late summer engagement photos of them on the Broadway Bridge and at Cathedral Park under St. John's Bridge in Portland, Oregon. You can see their photos here. We definitely had some wintery fun during our session!
It’s summer in Oregon and it’s been hot. But that doesn’t hold back lovebirds from getting cute photos for their save the dates, especially when family will be traveling to celebrate their big day with them.
Eventhough is was 93° out, Laura and Kevin’s smiles where only interrupted with kisses. We started our evening at the Broadway Bridge in Portland.
I loved the color of the bridge and even with the heat, Laura and Kevin decided to go with jeans and rolled up long sleeves for their casual look, which is truely their style. And you can’t forget to help your lady down what seemed to be 500 stairs in the heat.
Nowadays, cell phones can take great photos, so people may want to have their friends take photos of them with their mobile telephones. But there’s a lot more than just snapping an image.
One of the major perks of hiring a photographer is that they know how to pose you. Sure, all the ladies can just have your hands on your hips for all your photos, but looking at picture after picture with hands on their hips can get a little redundant. But this pose does have it's place, especially with a little variation.
There's so many more options for posing and there's a flow that you can direct your models/clients through. Just have them do a couple things at a time and make sure to move your feet to capture different angles. Never stand in just one spot while taking photos, unless there's no where else for you to stand.
Two cuties enjoying the great outdoors in the beautiful season of autumn, what's not to love? I had the enjoyment of capturing Marie and Kyle's unending smiles while exploring Silver Falls State Park and part of Salem for their engagement session.
Traveling out to Silver Falls, was nothing but thick fog, but as we entered the park, the fog lifted and the golden leaves sparkled along the road and waterfalls. We started at North Falls, explored a bit, and then went to the South Falls where the sun rays were streaming through the mist creating pure magic.
Here are some of my favorites of our mini autumn adventure. If you would like to see the entire image, click on the photo to enlarge.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting two of the cutest lovebirds, Kirsten and Dillon.
The forecast called for rain, but that didn't slow down these outdoor lovers. We met at the lovely greenhouse next to the Bush House Museum. A couple minutes after we arrived, the clouds broke up and some blue sky made an appearance.
Meandering through the greenhouse and the heritage rose garden with the gazebo was full of laughter, snuggles, and kisses. I can't wait to capture all the joy and love on their wedding day.
I hope you stay awhile. This is where I will talk about my paintings, processes, photography & adventures, post processing, social media, and more.
