Family session are one of my favorites to photograph. And my favorite time of year is autumn with the pops of colorful leaves and cooler weather. So basically, I loved this session! And throw in a cute little chunk of a baby and I'm all over it!

Many times I'll meet a family out at a park, but sometimes it works better to shoot their session at their own property. This was one of those times!  This family session was at their hobby farm and I absolutely loved their red barn! I shot my standard of the entire family, siblings, and the parents.
I love mother and daughter sessions; they are so special. I had spring minis earlier this year and this mom and her daughter came and this little girl has grown and has the cutest chunks now.  And at the end of this session, the little girl's cousins joined in for some photos and I thought that it was just so special!
It was a beautiful fall day for this family session. Life can sneak past and before you know it, it's been years since the last family photo and it was perfect autumn weather for this Salem family session at Minto-Brown Island Park.  Fall is the perfect time of year for family photos, because the colors are changing and there's time to print photos to add to Christmas cards. This family was a real delight with the two big brothers goofing off (as brothers tend to do) and helping with the littlest brother who was only a couple months old.  If you can't tell, I love capturing the special moments of siblings, parents, and the entire family interacting with one another.
As a mother myself, I really think it's important to have family photos taken, especially to capture young children as they grow. This 7 month old boy had the most expressive face and you can tell that he's a real thinker.  And I believe that it's not only important to take photos of the kiddos, but also the parents without any kiddos. Mom and Dad need a couple photos of them in this stage of their partnership as parents.
