I just love Spring with the trees waking up from their winter sleep, wildflowers showing off their beauty, and the warmer days starting to greet everyone. It's also the perfect time of year for family photos! This beautiful family traveled all the way from Lincoln City to Salem for a family photo session during my Spring Mini Session and I was so excited to capture all of them. It's so important to have family photos, especially when you have young children, because they are growing so fast. Even when someone is shy, I do my best to sneak a smile out of them and capture it for the parents. And you can't forget photos of mom and dad together, because one of them are usually the ones who are taking photos of their family.

Talk about a beautiful spring Oregon day! It was absolutely amazing with fresh cut grass, warm sunshine, and fluffy cherry blossoms at the foot of Salem Capitol Building. This was one of my mini photography packages and even though it was a shorter amount of time, it was perfect for a mother and daughter photo session. And this session was extra special, these will be the last photos of just the two of them, because another little one is coming along this summer! It was my first time photographing anyone during the spring bloom of cherry trees and it's easy to say that I'm hooked, because all of the photos turned out amazing! During this session, there was lots of admiring all the pretty flowers and even some running around to burn off extra energy, and you know what?!? Running around and spinning in circles make for great pictures for children! I hope you enjoy these photos and if you're thinking of having your photographs taken among these blooming cherry trees in Oregon's capital, I'd love to capture them for you!
The Oregon Coast's weather can be really unpredictable, especially in Spring. Sometimes you just got to pick a date, cross your fingers, and hold your breath for the weather to cooperate. And cooperate is an understatement for this maternity session!
Last summer I had the honor to capture Kassandra and Josh's backyard wedding last summer. And now the two of them are expecting a little girl and I'm just thrilled for them! I've been dying to do a family session at a Christmas tree farm and I finally had the chance last weekend! These are just a couple of my favorites from matching Carhartt beanies to mega candy canes and we can't forget the family dog! And fun fact, this little family was one of the first I photographed when I started photographing paying clients in 2016 and I was so excited to capture all of them. And I saved the best photo for last, so make sure you checkout all the photos! And why is it the best photo? Because big brother came up with the idea all by himself!
I'm already thinking ahead for net year and a Mini Session Day (like I did for my Fall Mini Session Day) at a Christmas Tree farm in the Salem area is on my list! Autumn colors came a little later than usual and they left in a hurry this year, but we were able to find some for this sweet little family photo session! We met up at a dog park in Lake Oswego, Oregon for this family of four (soon to be five!) family session. We found some beautiful golden leaves still clinging to trees and of course the classic evergreen trees.
I loved this session from the little baby bump to the pups with their plaid bandanas, and I hope you enjoy all of the photos! Bring on all of the family photo sessions just in time to include the photographs on your Christmas cards! When I learned that the father had been working hard at splitting and stacking wood, I just knew that we had to have family photos in front of it (super cute and rustic!). And of course, we had to include the puppers of the family. I bet their neighbors probably think that they had gone crazy with all the sounds I was making to get the dogs attention for the photos. hahaha. Plus, the front of their house is super cute, so a couple family photos had to be taken in front of it. There's more places than you think that you could have family photos taken at on your property, sometimes you just need another set of eyes to find some places.
