Today I went up to Milo McIver State Park to capture special moments of Caryn with her gelding, Eli. Usually, my session are planned out months in advance, but this one was planned over a couple of days. In February, when you have good weather, you need to take advantage of it! One of the biggest compliments that you can give a photographer is telling your friends about them. This is how Caryn found me! I had photographed her friend, Alyssa with her mare Goldie, almost two years ago and that's how she found out about me and I'm so glad that she did! I also learned that Goldie and Eli are both Off The Track horses learning a new job that they enjoy and excel at. Caryn had a vision of romantic, fairytale photographs with a foggy element, unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate, but other than being cold, it was beautiful weather. As you'll see, Eli was a champ during the entire session. Another fun part of the photo shoot (especially for me!) was all of Caryn's cowgirl gear: customized armitas that match the Lazy S 7 brand on Eli's left shoulder, buckaroo style hat, and bow tie with special meaning tied her own special way. Caryn's 2 year colt, Preacher even came out for an appearance, a perfect way to help desensitize the colt to new situations. Caryn was telling me that the only photo that they had of each other was for their engagement photos, so of course we had to take a photo of the two of them plus all the fur kids. To get a photo of everyone looking, lets just say I really couldn't hold back with all the noises that I'm capable of making. Hahaha! But it definitely gets the job done! And as with all of my photo shoots, they wouldn't be possible without some help now that my little girl, Bridget is here. John, my hubby, came along for for this session and our dog loving daughter got meet a couple of really big dogs. She really loves animals, which makes me so happy! Plus, baby noises really gets a horse's attention, which is perfect for photos.
