This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting Elise and her posse of critters. Her pups, Axel and Arcus, her fuzzy mare, Sierra, her 6 month old colt, Winston, and her cutting mare, Vixen. Originally our photo session was scheduled for two weeks ago. A week before our session, the weather forecast was calling for rain and lots of it. I'd rather postpone a photo shoot than cancel it and this is a fantastic example of when it's worth the wait. Elise had the perfect barn for some fantastic black background photos! Here she is with Axel (left) and Arcus (right). They are quite the goofballs, running around the farm and dragging around branches twice the size of them. Elise's old girl, Sierra, is the sweetest mare who still goes for rides in the woods behind the barn and helps beginning riders understand the fundamentals of being an equestrian. We got to venture in the woods to capture the bond these two share and it was the most beautiful November evening. And we couldn't not let young Winston miss out on the learning opportunity of a photo session. He goes on regular walks and is always curious of his surroundings. He did fantastic for his first photo session and is the cutest little Quarter Horse with a bright future of being a cutting horse. We couldn't let the photo session end for Sierra without some tasty apples. It's always a treat for the bridle to come off and get slobber everywhere. Unfortunately, Vixen wasn't really feeling the photography session, but after a little dinner, she did make a debut for a fun black background photo. Thank you so much for taking the time to see all of my favorites from this session out in the Salem countryside with Elise and her posse of critters.
