There was a lot of growth for me and for Western Rose Studios in 2018 and even more new things that will happen in 2019. Usually I write this blog post right at the end of December/beginning of January, but this year things are moving a little more slowly. But first, I'm going to reflect on 2018. I decided to focus on a couple new adventures in Western Rose Studios, such as teaching watercolor classes, photographing less landscapes and more people and pets, and networking with other small businesses. I was also blessed with being the winner of the 2019 St. Paul Rodeo poster contest, creating special custom watercolors that were Christmas presents for others, and attending a couple new events. This is where I would recap my goal for 2018 and now I met them. Looking at those goals from 2018 Art Goals, I didn't achieve many of those goals, but I did accomplish some things that are worth more than my previous goals.
For 2019, I think it's more important to work towards less goals with greater impact than more goals that outline small steps. Some of these goals are even ones I want to fulfill in my personal life (not business related). My best goals for 2019: • Capture the bond between horses and their owners in art and photography • Share my love of art by teaching watercolor classes • Write and illustrate a children's book • Pay off my Highlander, only debt to be our mortgage • Being 100% present for our baby girl arriving in May Do you have goals for the new year?
