If you're available to come out to St. Paul, Oregon, now is the time! The broncs, bulls, cowboys, and cowgirls are all top notch and give a show that you won't see anywhere else. Plus, there are some talented artists whom have been juried into the St. Paul Wild West Art Show & Sale, which is free to attend. This is my fourth year attending and I've gotten to know many of the artists and we would all love to show you our art and if you can see it in your house or a friend's house, then please consider purchasing it. And if you don't have any cash, then don't worry because many of the artists now accept credit cards.

Before I move onto more excited news, I'll let you know the days and times at the art show is open.
July 1 | 3 pm - 11 pm

This year I participated in the Quick Draw.

What at is a Quick Draw? A Quick Draw is when artists have a set amount of time to start and complete a piece of art. Then there is usually an auction at the end.

This is year my watercolor painting was of Gypsy Soul. This bronc mare has been chosen for the National Rodeo Finals for the past four years. I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph her when she was in a paddock by herself. She was a lot of fun to paint. It turned out that the owner of Gypsy Soul was the highest bidder at the auction and took her home.

I would love to do more quick draws in the future.

This year "Running 'em Down" brought in the Best of Show in Watercolor. This painting is one that I worked in my new sketchy style. Something more loose and expressive.

You can just see the look in the calf's eye, he's thinking of doing something sneaky to get away from the horse and rider. While the horse is determined to get the calf in a good position for his rider to rope him. Who will win? What do you think?
