When I was first teaching myself photography five years ago, I knew that I would want to take quality, if not amazing, photos of my future children. Now that I've had my first little one, I'v been snapping away with my iPhone almost everyday, but I still make the time to take photos with my professional camera equipment. And sometimes, I talk my hubby into taking a couple photos once I set everything up. These two photos were taken while we were still in the hospital with our little girl. And as she reached one month, two months, and three months, I knew that I wanted to capture those times with my DSLR and prime lens. At one month, Bridget was already holding up her head on her own when we were holding her and loved to brace her little forearms against our chests to help look around. She was growing quick and had the cutest little outfit set of an overall dress with lemons on it and a onesie with yellow edging details. I didn't want her to outgrow it before I had the chance for her to wear it and have photos taken. Luckily, it still fit! Outfit (gift): Lemon Dress and Onesie Set size 0-3 months (Just One You by Carter's) For her two month photos, I just knew I had to include her favorite toy, Uni the unicorn (her daddy named it for her). Her grandma got her that toy, and it's more of a little blanket with a stuffed unicorn head and little hooves on the corners. And I was able to match her outfit with Uni, because we had a little pink dress with a white unicorn and gray sparkly stars, and to top it off, a white bow headband. At this age, she loves going on walks in my front carrier (she gets grumpy if we don't go for a walk!), she's getting the hang of standing on mommy and daddy's laps, she likes to grasp things (like Uni and burp cloths), and she smiles and coos in little conversations with us. Outfit (gift): Pink Unicorn dress size 6 months (Carter's) And here we are at three months. Bridget LOVES to stand and sit up like a big girl, but still needs help. She still loves walks outside in the carrier and having conversations with familiar faces. The other day she reached out to pet great grandma's dog and loves to look around. When she's in the carseat, she'll do whatever she would be doing in her rocking swing - sleep, cry, playing and chew on her fists. I knew I wanted her to dress up as our little cowgirl for this month. Her grandma had bought her the cutest little denim jacket and I didn't want her to outgrow it and not have a picture of her wearing it. So, of course I had to go to my local children's resale store and pick up some jeans. Outfit: Denim Bow (gift) Jacket (White Buffalo Creations) size 6-9 months (The Children's Place) Heathered Pink Onesie size 6 months (Carter's) Jeans size 12 months (Garanimals) Bridget will forever be my muse and I can't wait to capture the memories of her growing up with my photography. I truly know how important it is to have a way to look back on her growing up.
